Yes Elias Smyre was a middle son of my 5th great grandfather John Smyre who I referenced in my blog. John Smyre had 5 sons, four of whom were slave owners in Lincoln/Catawba. The others in addition to Elias were John Jr., Daniel and George. So Jacob Smyre moved to Arkansas. Any one of the four could have been the father of my 3rd great grandfather James Henry Johnson.
